Crème de la Crème — 7 Amazing Highlighters for a Gorgeous Glow
Glow has become huge the last year or two, and for good reason. We glow when we're happy, healthy and loving life. And while life isn't always perfect (we don't always get those 8 hours followed by a good gym sesh, and sometimes a guy that seems great is really dumb and self-absorbed), it shouldn't stop us from finding the beauty in life and the glow that comes from living it to its fullest. I love glowing skin as much as the next girl, so I've rounded up my absolute favorite highlighters, in all forms, that do a really good job at getting our skin looking luminous and beautiful. I hope you lovelies find this helpful and that it gets you looking your glow-iest!
Natural
Dior is a brand that I just can't stop being obsessed with. I purchased one of their Diorama bags a few months back, which was quite a long time coming (aka saving), and I can't believe how gorgeous it is (and stays, despite wearing and wearing and wearing). Turns out everything they create is gorgeous. I love how this highlighter is not overbearing while still being gorgeous and adding so much glow. The shimmer is very fine and looks so natural on. The packaging is also just as beautiful! I'm currently loving and using the Nude Glow shade.
This highlighter is just as gorgeous as the Dior highlighter! The main difference I'd say is that it's more much more high impact, buildable, and pigmented. I have it in the Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop colors and I love how beautiful and luminous they are! The glow is unreal while looking very natural, it doesn't look shimmery or glittery. The Prosecco Pop is very golden and looks so good on tanned skin during the summer. It also works really well for the holidays on all skin tones; it adds a fun, festive glow. The consistency is also super soft, almost buttery. It almost feels like a liquid it's so soft; I love how it feels applying this!
You guys know I'm a major Urban Decay fan; their products are always great quality, especially their eyeshadows. Their highlighter are no exception! The powder is finely milled, super soft, and very blendable. They're quite similar quality-wise to Becca's, but some of the main differences are that while they're just as pigmented, they're not as bright, a tad more subtle, and are a bit more shimmery (they have the tiniest flecks of glitter). You can also purchase them separately, which is great for those who travel often, or they have done a few different renditions of a palette, but it always seems to sell out quickly. If you see it, act fast!
Liquid
I love how smoothly and beautifully these drops apply. Subtle yet impactful, they look gorgeous on skin by themselves or mixed with foundation. The color is a gorgeous gold, and it looks so lovely on most skin types! I love patting a few drops on my cheekbones after I'm done my makeup for a standout, dewy glow!
You guys have heard me rave about this product time and time again, but I just couldn't leave it out of this roundup. If you get this serum in Sunny Flash, it gives a gorgeous, natural tan glow alone or on top of foundation. I'll sometimes use it in place of or with a BB cream or tinted moisturizer to even my skin tone on a day when I need to run out but don't want to do my make up. It also comes in several other colors in case you're looking for the beautiful glow without the slight golden/tan color. I'm thinking of purchasing it in the peach color for winter, as my skin gets quite pale... I'll definitely let you know how I get on with it if I do!
Fun
When I first saw this, I didn't think I'd use it, but I was definitely wrong! The highlight is a lovely, subtle lavender glow. I don't usually use it for everyday makeup, but I love it for a night out or fun event! It's a fun way to mix it up. The powder is super fine, so it blends seamlessly.
Last but not least is this super fun highlighter! It is more of a powdered glitter, but it's more subtle and so easy compared to regular glitter. It applies easily and stays on, and you don't end up with glitter flakes everywhere. Again, not something I use for everyday makeup, but it's fun for an event or night out! I find it works great on my eyelids, in the corners of my eyes, or layered over the Kevyn Acoin Neo-Limelight highlighter.
I'd love to hear what your favorites are! Do you love any of these? Have any others I need to give a try? Let me know below!
Bisous,
Laurelle
