Late Summer Comfy Chic

Happy Tuesday, and August 1st! Every summer I say this, but I can't believe how quickly summer passed! It seemed to go by in a blur, but it's no wonder with how much traveling we did for weddings and family happenings!

With the end of summer drawing near, I wanted to share with you guys how I create an outfit with a late summer vibe while staying, cool, chic and comfortable!

- Black - You can never go wrong with black, but I feel it's an especially appropriate and great color to wear in late summer! Black sandals, black denim shorts, black anything pretty much... it all looks so chic and sophisticated while taking you seamlessly from August to September. If you don't want to wear all back, most darker-toned colors tend to work great; like my clutch's taupe color.

- Silk/Satin Camis - Silk or satin is the perfect way to elevate any outfit. They're such beautiful and luxe fabrics, and especially so when trimmed in lace! I love pairing silk with jeans and other casual pieces to stay comfortable while looking chic and put-together! Camis are such a great choice for summer since they're so loose and cool. Tuck it into whatever you're wearing and you are ready to go!

- Block Heels - I am beyond grateful for the person who invented block heels! I absolutely love heels. They just look sooo good. But, they are also impractical. Not the most comfortable thing to wear, especially if you have any amount of walking to do. But the block heel is different; walking in them is actually doable. They're one of those few shoes that allow you to look dressy & chic without hobbling or being in pain with each step after an hour of wearing them! I am becoming a fan of cute sneaks, but sometimes you just need a heel, and these are the perfect ones to go to when not wanting to compromise comfort! I especially love this Steve Madden pair, since they are a reasonable height, and very comfortable, have a 'strappy look', thanks to the thin ankle strap, but most of all, the heel is GOLD. That's obviously not necessary for this look, but definitely go for bock heels that have a bit of character!

- Gold Accessories - This follows so well from my last point! Gold is so summery, reminiscent of the golden summer light and looks so beautiful on a good tan. I love how my bag, heels, and jewelry all add a summery vibe while also elevating the look!
